Tempo R 4-6 is a mounted high-speed planter available with 4 or 6 row units, and fertiliser metering as option. With easily adjustable row spacing, it is possible to plant numerous crops with the same machine, enabling greater usage. Additionally, a rigid frame benefits from fewer moving parts, minimal weight and reduced maintenance without compromising the excellent precision Tempo R offers.
Väderstad Tempo is a new generation high-speed planter, delivering an unmatched precision at double the speed of traditional planters. No-till, min-till or conventional tillage – Tempo performs exceptionally in all conditions. The crops gets the best start possible which results in an even emergence.
Tempo R has a frame designed to enable simple setup of row spacing and number of row units.
With six rows, the machine can be configured to 450 or 500mm row spacing, while the four-row version can be adjusted to 700, 750, 762 or 800mm.
As an option, Tempo R can be equipped with a 1200 litre fertiliser hopper and disc fertiliser coulters.
The hopper is mounted on the planter, with access to the big opening from steps on both sides. The high capacity hopper result in fewer fillings which reduces downtime in the field.
Electric motors enable variable fertiliser rate, offering higher yield with the same amount of fertiliser.
Together with the seed metering, the fertiliser metering has individual row shut off. This maintains the correct application even on irregular fields.
The fertiliser is metered through short hoses which improves the reaction time.
Individual row shut off provides equal conditions for the plant which leads to an even crop emergence and reduces fertiliser costs.
Tempo R is mounted on the tractors three-point linkage, making it easy to manoeuvre in the field.
Without the need of a front hopper, the attached fertiliser hopper takes up little space when stored.
You benefit from small turning radius on headlands and convenient transport between fields.
The iPad-based control system, Väderstad E-Control wirelessly delivers data about each seed that travels through the machine, including seeding quality, skips, doubles, distance in the row, and rate.
You benefit from user-friendly remote set up and calibration, as well as easy, real-time monitoring and control.
With the iPad you can upload the most recent program software which allows you to benefit from future developments.
Disc fertiliser coulters and a large fertiliser hopper makes it possible to place fertiliser together with the main crop.
Fertiliser kit
The hopper is easy and safe to access via a platform and its large opening improves filling time and reduces downtime in the field. The fertiliser coulters are spring-loaded and can apply a force up to 150kg, which also is sufficient when direct planting. The fertiliser can be placed according to need, both sideways and depth wise. The gauge wheel on the fertiliser coulter has two tasks - to control the depth and to reduce the soil throw from the fertiliser coulter.
The row cleaners are an option on Tempo. The task of the row cleaners is to remove crop residues, clods and stones. The demand for row cleaners is much higher when planting into no-till or when planting into fields with large amount of residues.
Floating row cleaners
Each row cleaner is mounted on a parallel linkage, enabling it to precisely follow the field surface. The working intensity is easily configured with a spring, which makes it possible to either add or relieve pressure from the row cleaner. The row cleaner is fitted with a self-cleaning rubber wheel, controlling the depth setting of the high quality spiked row cleaner disc. With optimised working angles, the floating row cleaners are designed to perfectly match the capacity and precision of the machine.
With Tempo, planting can be carried out at very high speed, without compromising exceptional precision and accuracy. Tempo is extremely accurate and the seed meter assures perfect placement for every seed. This precision is of greatest importance to maximise the yield.
16mm seed system
The 16mm seed system comes as standard. It is optimised for seeds under 15mm diameter.
22mm seed system
When planting large seeds over 15mm diameter, it is possible to equip Tempo with a 22mm seed system instead of standard 16mm.
Micro granulate kit
The micro granulate hopper holds 17 litres to match the capacity of the seed hopper. The boxes are used for either a starter fertilizer or a pesticide. The micro granulate can be placed either in the seed furrow or on the surface.
Small seeds kit
The small seeds kit for Väderstad Tempo improves results when planting small seeded crops, such as oilseed rape and sugar beet. Planting a small seeded crop at shallow planting depth requires the planter to be very gentle to the seed. When the seed is planted the closing wheel shut the seed slot and ensures perfect conditions for germination. Depending on farming requirements, the interface further allows for several industry-standard third-party closing wheel solutions.
Narrow closing wheel 25mm
The task of the closing wheel is to close the seed furrow. The force on the closing wheels can easily be adjusted, and it is also possible to set the closing wheels off-set.
Wide closing wheel 50mm
The wide closing wheel is often used when planting very shallow. This closing wheel can also be used in conventional planting when planting maize and sunflowers.
Treaded closing wheel 50mm
By reducing the risk for crusting, the treaded closing wheel optimises the conditions for shallow planted seeds, such as sugar beets and oil seed rape
Pointed closing wheel
The pointed closing wheel crumbles and breaks the sidewalls to ensure closing of the furrow. Its aggressive characteristics makes it a good fit in heavy soil conditions.
Spiked closing wheel
A spiked closing wheel is often used when direct planting. This closing wheel is also a good option when planting in heavy clay soils.
ProDrain add-on for closing wheel
The ProDrain closing wheel attachment (mounted outside the closing wheel) creates a weatherproof surface.
