The Wil-Rich 657 is designed for the first tillage pass, effectively managing crop residue and starting the decomposition process. With its robust construction and versatile attachments, this machine significantly improves soil conditions, setting the stage for subsequent tillage and planting.
The Wil-Rich 657 helps dislodge root balls and bury residue to start the decomposition process, making seedbed preparation more manageable in the spring.
Specialised tines on the Wil-Rich 657 mix the upper soil profile to help create finer tilth in hard, heavy soils.
The discs and tines on the Wil-Rich 657 can break up compaction layers in the upper soil profile to help improve water infiltration and root growth.
Preparing your fields with the Wil-Rich 657 sets the stage for effective soil management. This machine is designed to handle high residue conditions, mix soil for finer tilth, and break up shallow compaction layers. By integrating these tasks into one efficient pass, the 657 Disk Chisel improves seedbed preparation, enhances water infiltration, and promotes healthier root growth.
The Wil-Rich 657 helps manage fall residue, mix soil for finer tilth, and break up shallow compaction layers. These features improve seedbed preparation, enhance water infiltration, and promote healthier root growth.

The Wil-Rich 657 is commonly used in the autumn in high residue conditions, especially following maize. The specialised configuration of individually mounted discs and tines is designed to dislodge root balls and thoroughly mix them in the upper soil profile. This can start the decomposition process more efficiently, so the field can be managed easily in the spring when preparing a seedbed.
In heavy soils, the Wil-Rich 657 can effectively mix the upper profile to help create finer tilth while aiding residue breakdown. Its tines feature concave twisted shovels that are engineered for superior mixing performance. The resulting finish produces an ideal environment for planting and growing crops the following year.
Compaction layers in the upper soil profile can restrict water infiltration and root growth. The heavy-duty Wil-Rich 657 offers the strength to break through tough, heavy soils and shatter compaction layers. As a result, water can better soak into the soil, and roots can grow more freely, leading to healthier and higher-yielding crops.
The Wil-Rich 657 is ideally suited for the first tillage pass in high residue conditions. The split-the-middle design offsets the straight coulters 19 cm (7½ in) from the tines to dislodge root balls and efficiently start the decomposition process. These optional straight coulters can be added to further enhance residue management by cutting through tough crop residue. This machine is perfect for farmers looking to prepare their fields for planting by effectively managing crop residue.
Choose between concave discs or straight coulters. The concave discs are 56 cm (22 in) in diameter, allowing for a maximum working depth of 13 cm (5 in). They are spaced 38 cm (15 in) apart and are offset from the tines. The straight coulters are offset and indexed to the tines for a 19 cm (7½ in) working pattern. The front discs/coulters can be hydraulically raised and lowered for varying residue conditions.
Three ranks of heavy-duty tines are engineered to mix in residue, loosen soil, and shatter compaction up to 25 cm (10 in) deep. Choose between four types of shovels: spike, chrome straight spike, or twisted concave spike (left or right). They are designed to efficiently bury and mix crop residue, enhancing the decomposition process. This ensures that residue is thoroughly incorporated into the soil, improving soil structure and fertility.
Wil-Rich 657 trips are engineered for maximum strength and durability to minimise downtime, with an industry-leading trip pressure of 635 kg (1,400 lbs). The high trip pressure helps maintain depth in tough soil conditions while preventing damage from rocks or other obstructions.
The Wil-Rich 657 DCR features a 10.1 x 15.2 x 1 cm (4 x 6 x ⅜ in) tubular frame that provides strength and stability. The large, 15 x 10 cm (6 x 4 in) main frame supports the overall structure, ensuring durability and reliable performance in various soil conditions.
The Wil-Rich 657 DCR features a rigid hitch that keeps the front and rear of the machine level, ensuring consistent performance and ease of use. It offers Cat. III, IV, or V tongue options for 3.8 cm (1½ in), 5 cm (2 in), or 7 cm (2¾ in) diameter pins, providing flexibility to match various tractor setups.
The walking tandem wheels on the Wil-Rich 657 DCR are designed to support the machine's movement and stability, contributing to its ability to handle tough soils and high residue conditions. Careful placement of tines around the wheels minimises plugging, ensuring smooth operation and making it a reliable tool for effective soil management.
Optional single truck tyres can be added to the Wil-Rich 657 DCR Disc Chisel to excel in wet conditions. These tyres provide additional traction and stability, ensuring the machine performs effectively even in challenging soil conditions.
The 3- or 4-bar tubular harrow is equipped with five adjustable tooth angles. These settings enable users to set the harrow's aggressiveness based on soil conditions and the level of residue present. The tines measure 16 mm (5/8 in) in diameter and are available in lengths of either 66 cm (26 in) or 76 cm (30 in), depending on the attached tool.
